For as long as I can remember, I have always wanted a ‘desk job’. I would pretend to be a secretary, a cashier, a manager during play time.

As I grew older, I did all I needed to do to make my dreams come true. I was a conscientious student, amongst the top of my class, to ensure acceptance into whichever field it was that I set my mind on. During my high school career I was drawn to Maths and Accounting, it was satisfying, precise, and always had a solution. It was definite, no room for error or discussion. It gave me the safety net I needed.

We had always moved around in my younger years, life long friends and childhood memories were swift and ever-changing. Hence the yearning for a stable and rigid work environment.

However, my whole world shifted when I became a mom. The one job I always knew I wanted, but never knew the impact it would have on my everyday life. My heart began pulling me in a different direction.

I tried to juggle being a “Boss Mom”, dominating in my field, while ensuring I made time to be a supportive mom, whose kiddies took part in every school activity and event. This was what society expected of me, of us, to be there for our kids as if we were full time mothers, but to work as if we had no personal commitments. My roles soon fought against each other, with neither receiving the attention they rightfully deserved.

After months of planning, thinking, debating, what-iffing and considering I was going nuts, Cotton Cloud was born. This adventure allowed me to be a full-time mom, and to provide for my kids. I would be sourcing products, of only the best quality at prices affordable for every family, products I wish I had for my kids. The baby and kids market is saturated with companies all stocking variations of the same product at different prices. I wanted to supply products for families, directly from the supplier to your door. Think trendy colours, easily functional and economical!

Why make parenting any more difficult than it needs to be?
